    Family Nurse Practitioner

    Join our team as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Marysville, OH. This position offers a full-time schedule with a focus on providing comprehensive care to patients.

    Job Description

    • Monitors progress of and intervenes in the course of chronic illnesses, using policies and protocols for guidance.
    • Inoculates or vaccinates against communicable diseases and prescribes medications or administers treatment of acute and chronically ill patients. Performs minor surgery as training and competency allows.
    • Performs routine physical exams of patients to determine control or status of chronic conditions and diagnoses new conditions.
    • Evaluates patients for the necessity of specialty referral consultations inside or outside the institution and reviews said consult reports for the recommendations, approving or disapproving accordingly.
    • Orders and reviews the results of laboratory, x-ray, and other diagnostic testing as appropriate.
    • With the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), facilitates the completion of medical reclassification and requests for non-formulary medications as necessary.
    • Performs routine and emergency medical care of patients as scheduled.
    • Conducts rounds on infirmary patients as deemed appropriate by the CMO.
    • Writes up medical information gathered during patient interviews according to Office of Correctional Healthcare guidelines, policies, protocols, and related American Correctional Association standards currently in practice, documenting all assessments and diagnostic impressions, as well as any other treatment plans and follow-up parameters.
    • Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight and accepts suggestions, redirection, and guidance.

    Requirements

    • Active and unrestricted Ohio Advanced Practice Nurse license.
    • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
    • Current Healthcare-Professional Level CPR/BLS certification.
    • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification (if available).
