Physician - Part Time

Job Description

• Perform routine and emergency medical care of a non-specialized nature to patients or inmates in state facilities, including examining, diagnosing, and treating patients.
• Monitor patient progress, inoculate or vaccinate against communicable diseases, prescribe medication, and administer treatment for acute and chronically ill patients.
• Perform minor surgeries and conduct routine physical examinations to determine medical conditions for claims purposes or employment suitability.
• Attend professional meetings, work conferences, and interdisciplinary team meetings to participate in the development of total quality care plans.
• Consult with other physicians to determine the need for specialized care or treatment and act as a consultant to other professionals such as social workers and psychologists.
• Instruct nursing, technical, and para-professional staff.
• Write medical evaluations and reports, including admission, discharge, and death summaries; interpret and analyze laboratory reports and findings; maintain written accounts of patient progress; and write orders and instructions to nursing and support staff.

Requirements

• Candidates with pediatric experience are a plus.
