**Registered Nurse**

ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic, and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year, and team members at the facility have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

**Job Description**

- Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents.
- Deliver nursing care in accordance with ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care/practice.
- Provide and coordinate nursing care, including the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes, and development of a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and document the process.
- Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the health care team.
- Collaborate with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care.
- Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.

**Requirements**

- Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

**Other Information**

- Position: 0.9 FTE (3) 12-hour shifts per week.
- Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM).
