Performance of frozen sections and all other related duties. This Pathologist Assistant will work in a CLIA certified surgical grossing laboratory and will direct and assist in the daily workflow of the staff and house staff of the laboratory. Proper grossing at UF Health, as a tertiary care center, requires proper specimen selection for the various tests being requested and for accurate diagnosis and frozen section performance. These tests may involve flow cytometry, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, and frozen sections. Sample selection is critical to have the proper amount, type, and location.

**Requirements**

- Must meet qualifications for CLIA high complexity testing personnel
- Option 1: Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited American Association of Pathologists' Assistant program
- Option 2: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and completion of NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program within the last 5 years
- Option 3: Medical degree (including foreign Master's level) or higher may substitute for Bachelor's degree with five years of clinical experience in Anatomic Pathology and clinical experience within the past 24 months
- American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferred

The ED Technician provides care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies. Provides direct and indirect patient care while adhering to the mission and objectives of the hospital in order to meet the healthcare needs of patients and families. The ED Technician will be responsible for collecting pertinent data within their certification scope of practice and will report all clinical and psychosocial findings to the RN and ED Attending. The ED Technician provides clinical support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration. Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Current certification as EMT-Paramedic in the State of Florida required. Specialty certifications required upon hire: BLS; ACLS.
