    Job Description

    • Physical Medicine/Rehab Medical Directorship 60 minutes from Indianapolis, Indiana
    • No call
    • $450,000 to $700,000 site-specific earning potential
    • Rehabilitation hospital is a state-of-the-art, 40-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital, providing customized intensive rehabilitation services to people recovering from disabling diseases or injuries, such as strokes, brain, spinal cord, and orthopedic injuries
    • Will also see individuals who may have chronic illnesses such as cerebral palsy, ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson's disease

    Requirements

    • The Medical Director position will collaborate with the entire clinical team to provide medical direction in conformance with the facility's policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission
    • The Physician will have a clinical focus on general physical medicine and rehabilitation
    • Internal Medicine & midlevel support serves as patients' primary physician and performs H&Ps
    • Assessment and management of patients with long-term functional limitations; development of a plan of care in consultation with other specialists
    • The ideal candidate must be proficient in managing medically complex patients and comfortable taking care of a variety of rehab-related diagnoses on the unit
    • Perform medical procedures to treat pain and improve physical functioning
    • Lead a team of medical professionals, which may include physical therapists as well as occupational therapists, with the goal of optimizing patient care
    • Monitor ongoing progress and health of patients and adjust treatment plans accordingly
    • Provide tools and guidance that allow the patient to adapt and improve overall health and physical functioning
    • Counsel patients as well as their families
    • Additional procedural opportunities may include botulinum toxin injections, baclofen pump management, and EMGs
