Emergency Room Nurse / Acute Care

Job Description

• Under general direction, provides nursing care in collaboration with the patients and serves as a resource person for staff
• Evaluates patients' qualifications for clinical research studies
• Presents lectures, seminars, programs, or conferences
• Responsible for collaboration, facilitation, and implementation of research projects
• Provides direct clinical service to patients and families including psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, supportive therapy, behavior modification, care management, and patient education

Requirements

• ADN required
• BSN preferred; will accept ADN if enrolled in BSN program; must have BSN in 36 months (3 years)
• Must have 2 years of current, recent ER experience
• Must have acute care experience in a hospital setting
• Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certification
• Current Texas State Licensure as a Registered Nurse (Compact license is accepted but TX State RN license required within 30 days of hire)
• Current ACLS/BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
