    Anesthesiologist

    Join our team as a 2.0 FTE Anesthesiologist in Syracuse, NY. This locum tenens position offers the potential for a long-term contract in an inpatient service setting.

    Job Description

    • Clinical schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4 PM
    • Weekday call: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 7 AM
    • 24-hour weekend call: 7 AM to 7 AM the next day (call from home; provider not required to be at facility unless called back for an emergency)
    • Call type: Beeper/cell phone
    • Call ratio: To be confirmed (call will be shared among anesthesiologists)
    • Call response time: On-call providers must be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 40 minutes
    • Callback percentage: To be confirmed (call-back for emergency surgery or procedures is infrequent)
    • Patient demographics: Adults
    • Patient volume: Approximately 10 surgical cases per day
    • Phone consults: Yes
    • Rounding included: Yes
    • Percentage of practice: 90% direct patient care
    • Support staff: CRNAs, will also supervise anesthesiology residents
    • Procedures: Patients undergoing cardiac surgery, orthopedic joint replacement, and major vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic, and ophthalmologic operations
    • EMR: CPRS
    • Hospital privileges required: Yes
    • Temporary privileges available: Yes
    • Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered

    Requirements

    • Active unrestricted license in any state or U.S. territory
    • Completion of an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency program
    • Board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
    • BLS certification
    • ACLS certification
    • DEA certificate
    • NPI number
    • At least 3-5 years of relevant anesthesiology experience is preferred

    Please note: Physicians who have ever had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action, or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
