Hospitalist NP/PA

Join our team as a Hospitalist NP/PA in Nags Head, NC. This locum tenens position offers an opportunity to work in an inpatient setting, providing supplemental coverage during the specified period.

Job Description

• Coverage period: July 7-18, 2025
• Shift needed to be filled:
  • July 7-11
  • July 14-18
• Shift schedule: 2 PM - 10 PM
• Patient volume:
  • Inpatient: 17-21
  • Per APP: 8-10
• Admissions: 4-6 in the morning; 5-7 in the evening
• Physician in practice: 2
• APPs in practice: 4
• Specialty back-up includes General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, OBGYN, Cardiology, Orthopedics, ENT, Primary Care, and Oncology
• Emergency Medicine beds: 21
• No critical care responsibilities
• Will respond to codes but not in the Emergency Department
• Will not serve as back-up in the Emergency Department but will consult on holds in the ED
• New NP/PA will need to come in the day before their first scheduled shift for orientation
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered

Requirements

• Active NC License
• Board Certified/Board Eligible
• DEA
• BLS, ACLS
• 1 year inpatient experience (preferred)
