Rapid Care APP (Outpatient)

Adventist Health is seeking an experienced APP to join our team as a Rapid Care APP (Outpatient) in Paradise, CA. Rapid care is an extended hours clinic inside our Rural Health Clinic seeing patients similar to an urgent care setting.

Job Description

• Maintain responsibility for providing expert clinical care in general or specialty areas.
• Assess, plan, and provide patient care in collaboration with the attending physician.
• Provide comprehensive health assessments, perform medical diagnoses of acute and chronic illnesses, write prescriptions, and formulate treatment plans.
• Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and assist in medical/surgical care of patients.
• Interview patients, employees, and/or family members; construct comprehensive medical histories; perform initial and periodic physical examinations.
• Evaluate patient behavior and explore the patient's interpretation of health needs.
• Work under the scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and as an agent of the physician.
• Provide appropriate patient education, explain the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis, and secure appropriate informed consent for procedures.
• Instruct patients about health maintenance and preventive care; provide patient education handouts.
• Make referrals to health education classes when available; provide continuity of care.
• Directly perform or order appropriate diagnostic studies and interpret finished results.
• Discuss the completion of treatment plans and administration of medications and injections; follow up on acute and chronic problems and significant abnormal tests.
• Oversee the maintenance of adequate, concise, legible, and up-to-date documentation of patient care.
• Note problem medical, medication, and discharge records, drug allergies, lab orders, subjective and objective data, diagnostic procedures, patient education, and treatment.
• Provide treatment of patients as needed, including administering medications and/or vaccines and performing procedures.
• Use cost-containment measures which include prescribing only clinically necessary medications, prescribing generic medications when appropriate, making only clinically necessary referrals, and ordering only clinically necessary diagnostic procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
• Two years relevant clinical experience: Preferred
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
• Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure in state of practice: Required
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice: Required

Compensation Information

Wage Scale: $116,335 - $150,000 annually
