    Staff Nurse Resource Pool I

    Join our team as a Staff Nurse Resource Pool I, providing nursing care that requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. This position involves delivering clinical nursing care across multiple units based on the needs of the organization.

    Job Description

    • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care with a focus on family-centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the assigned scope of practice.
    • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients served, regardless of age and developmental status.
    • Perform leadership and professional duties.
    • Provide patient-centered care.
    • Engage in quality improvement and safety duties.
    • Participate in the development of education for staff members on clinically related issues; may be responsible for precepting new employees and acting as a mentor to clinical staff.
    • Conduct evidence-based practice duties.
    • Support provider staff and actively promote collaboration for efficient operation and quality care, ensuring legendary customer service for pediatric patients using a team approach.
    • Perform systems-based practice duties.
    • Execute informatics and technology duties.
    • Be temporarily assigned to areas throughout the Akron Children's Hospital enterprise based on patient needs requiring similar knowledge and skill.

    Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or must be obtained within 5 years from the date of hire.
    • Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association is required. Additional certifications may be required based on the assigned department or unit. Additional certifications that must be obtained within one (1) year of hire include ACLS, NRP, and PALS.
    • Active license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio is required.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is required.

    Technical Expertise

    • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to other staff members with an emphasis on working as a collaborative team to provide quality service to patients and their families.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills are required.
    • Strong organizational skills are required.
    • Ability to work well under pressure to prioritize and complete required tasks and responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Experience working with various levels within an organization is required.
    • Experience in healthcare is preferred.
    • Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
    • Experience working with an electronic medical record system (i.e., EPIC) or similar software is preferred.

    Status

    Full-time position with 36 hours per week, working from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, rotating every third weekend. This role is onsite.
