    Locum PA Opportunity Surgical First Assist Robotics-Focused

    UCLA Health is seeking a Board-Certified Physician Assistant with DaVinci XI robotic experience to support Thoracic Surgery and additional surgical service lines based on experience. This is a 100% intraoperative role with no pre-op or post-op responsibilities.

    Job Description

    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5x8s, Start time: 6:45 AM or 9:00 AM
    • Location: Santa Monica Medical Center & Ronald Reagan Medical Center (UCLA Health System)
    • Coverage Type: Locum Tenens, open to part-time local coverage (2+ days/week)
    • You will be assisting in robotic cases across multiple specialties, with a primary focus on Thoracic Surgery. The ideal candidate will also have experience in at least one of the following:
      • Urology
      • Gynecology
      • General Surgery
      • Head & Neck Surgery (SP robot experience a plus)

    Role Details

    • Setting: Operating Room only
    • Responsibilities: First-assist in robotic surgeries using DaVinci XI (SP robot for Head & Neck)
    • Procedures Include:
      • Thoracic: Thoracotomies, lung lobectomies
      • GYN: Hysterectomies
      • Urology: Prostatectomies, nephrectomies
    • Call: Some weekend call may be required
    • Team Structure: Cross-functional PA team across both campuses

    Locations

    • Santa Monica Medical Center: Thoracic, General Surgery, Urology, GYN
    • Ronald Reagan Medical Center: All above + Head & Neck (SP robot)

    Note: Thoracic cases are more frequent at Ronald Reagan Medical Center.

    Requirements

    • Board-Certified PA
    • DaVinci XI robotic experience required
    • Thoracic Surgery experience required
    • Experience in at least one additional service line (Urology, GYN, General Surgery, Head & Neck)
    • SP robot experience (preferred for Head & Neck cases)
    • California PA license in good standing
