    Dentist needed in Northern CA, located in Susanville. This position is full-time and permanent, with a schedule from Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

    Job Description

    • Conduct a program of general practice dental care with responsibility for examination, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric and adult patients, emphasizing preventive care and instruction in dental hygiene.
    • Provide dental treatment and advice to patients as indicated.
    • Serve as a family dentist and see patients in all age groups, acting as a consultant in dentistry to other health professions.
    • Examine individuals requesting care, diagnose their dental/oral conditions, prescribe and carry out appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refer individuals for specialty consultation or treatment.
    • Record patient-dentist transactions in the patients' dental record to accurately reflect the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient, and the care or treatment provided.
    • Perform dental operations and treat oral diseases; refer cases when appropriate; confer with physicians regarding medical/dental problems.
    • Educate patients and parents in the nature of oral health-related conditions and promote oral health-related disease prevention.
    • Attend staff conferences and keep clinical and other records regarding services provided, supplies, and materials used.
    • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services consistent with the organization's policies and the standards of the dental profession.
    • Assist in providing technical assistance and health education to the community as requested.
    • Coordinate and integrate the organization's dental programs and services with other organization programs for the welfare of the company's patients.
    • Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and center rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures governing the practice of dentistry.

    Requirements

    • Graduation from an accredited school of dentistry; possession of a valid D.D.S./D.M.D. License to practice in the State of California.
    • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of general and pediatric dentistry.
    • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to apply modern methods and practices of general four-handed dentistry.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision for patient care and follow-up, with high productivity.
    • Current CPR and first aid certificate or willingness to be trained within the first ninety days of employment.
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred; other languages desirable.
    • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
    • Ability to provide quality customer service and work well with others in a professional manner in a team-oriented environment.
    • Good reasoning abilities, maintain patient confidentiality, excellent communication, and supervisory skills.
    • Flexibility in schedule to work various shifts and occasional Saturday shifts if needed.
