Join our team for a locum tenens opportunity in Hickory, NC. This position offers full-time coverage with predictable scheduling in a stroke-certified facility.

Job Description

• Scheduled clinical hours plus call
• Onsite shift coverage Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch
• Call coverage Monday through Friday 5 p.m. - 8 a.m.
• Weekend call begins Saturday 8 a.m. and ends Monday 8 a.m.
• Call type: Beeper
• Call response time: 15 minutes by phone, onsite within 30 minutes
• Call ratio: 1:3
• Call back percentage: 20 percent
• Facility will accept multiple providers
• Inpatient setting
• Admissions required
• Rounding on both assigned and unassigned patients
• No supervision of APPs or residents required
• EMRs used: Athena and Cerner
• Temporary privileges available for providers with clean history
• Nearest airport: Charlotte Douglas International
• Lodging available nearby in Hickory, NC

Requirements

• Active NC license required
• Board certified or board eligible
• Clean malpractice and disciplinary history
• BLS required
• IMLC not accepted

Skill Requirements

• Endoscopic procedures: upper GI, lower GI, colonoscopy, EGD
• ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic)
• PEG tube placement
• Biopsies: small bowel, liver
• Esophageal dilation and manometry
• Sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
• Endoscopic ultrasound
• Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
