    APP CT Surgery Opening in Colorado Springs, CO

    Seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant with a minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management. Join a cutting-edge, full-time surgical team dedicated to delivering extraordinary patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Rotating call: 1:4-5 weekday and weekend call. In-house NP manages call from 8:30 pm to 6:30 am.

    Job Description

    • Provide expert perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients
    • Assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting (Maquet-Getinge system) and first assisting in procedures
    • Manage ICU, cardiovascular surgical patients, including rounding and evaluation in CVICU, floor, and clinics
    • Participate in 2 full-day clinics weekly and additional patient visits as needed
    • Rotate through operating room coverage Monday through Friday
    • Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals
    • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
    • Develop and implement detailed care plans and follow-ups
    • Prescribe medications per policy and regulations
    • Perform bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population
    • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
    • Complete ongoing CME to maintain and enhance clinical skills

    Requirements

    • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies - REQUIRED
    • PA-C certification by NCCPA - REQUIRED
    • Minimum 3+ years cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management experience, including endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting - REQUIRED
    • Unrestricted DEA license to prescribe medications - REQUIRED
    • Full prescriptive authority per medical staff privileging - REQUIRED
    • Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate practice privileges - REQUIRED
    • BLS certification (AHA or ARC) - REQUIRED
    • Eligible to provide reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid - REQUIRED
    • No current or prior sanctions/exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA List - REQUIRED
