Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist
Join our team as a full-time academic specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology. We welcome applicants at all levels of experience. The UofL Department of Ob-Gyn and Women's Health is comprised of 17 full-time physician faculty with representation of board-certified subspecialties of MFM, Gyn-Onc, and FPMRS, along with members focused on MIGS and Advanced Family Planning. Our team also includes 3 CNM and 4 women's health NPs. The department has a strong residency program of 24 residents that actively participate in section activities during their training. Current fellowship programs include FPMRS, minimally invasive gyn surgery, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. The Generalist Division provides complex obstetrical care to a diverse population with support from our MFM colleagues. We teach a steady stream of bright learners from Kentucky and beyond. We value teamwork, collegiality, great care for every patient, and keeping a sense of humor through it all.
Job Description
- Direct patient care, teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, and collaborating with other faculty in clinical research, quality and safety, and academic projects.
- 2-3 days per week in resident and private clinics.
- 1 day per week labor and delivery coverage.
- 1 day per week gynecologic surgery.
- 4 in-house night (14h) or weekend (12-hour) shifts per month, post-overnight shift off.
- Interest/experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: clinical research; robotics; minimally invasive surgery; family planning; chronic pelvic pain; sexual dysfunction; and lesbian, bisexual, and transgender health.
