Physician Assistant
A well-established musculoskeletal and spine-focused practice in Northern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant with orthopedic spine experience to join its growing clinical team. This position offers a mix of surgical first assist responsibilities and outpatient spine care, working closely with experienced surgeons and multidisciplinary specialists to support patients throughout their treatment journey. Job Description
- Full-time schedule: Monday to Friday (8 AM to 4 PM)
- Mix of OR surgical assistance and outpatient patient care
- Collaborative multidisciplinary team environment
- Assist orthopedic spine surgeons in the operating room as a surgical first assist approximately 1 to 2 days per week
- Perform pre-operative evaluations, post-operative follow-ups, and patient consultations
- Review and interpret diagnostic imaging such as MRIs, CT scans, and X-rays
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for spine and musculoskeletal conditions
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, recovery expectations, and treatment options
- Work collaboratively with pain management specialists, surgeons, and rehabilitation teams
- Provide ongoing clinical care and monitoring for patients recovering from orthopedic spine procedures
- Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
- Rotate between multiple clinic locations in North Jersey to support patient care needs
Requirements
- Active New Jersey Physician Assistant license
- DEA license required
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of orthopedic spine experience
- Strong background in surgical first assist and spine procedures
- Ability to interpret diagnostic imaging and clinical findings
