    Physician Assistant

    Explore a rewarding opportunity with AHWFB Cardiology Department as we eagerly welcome a skilled Physician Assistant to join our dynamic outpatient team in Elkin, North Carolina. This outreach position will serve Wilkes, Elkin, and other surrounding areas.

    Job Description

    • Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations in a medical setting.
    • Use medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans.
    • Collaborate with the medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
    • Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
    • Perform procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
    • Participate in basic science and clinical research projects.
    • Potentially precept students and/or medical learners.
    • Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.
    • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

    Requirements

    • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred.
    • Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA.
    • Post-graduate experience is strongly preferred. Clinical experience, inpatient or outpatient, especially within the cardiovascular field preferred.
    • BLS & ACLS required.
