Palliative/Hospice Physician

We are recruiting to replace two of our hospice physicians who are nearing retirement. Our hospice, located on the East coast in South Central Florida, was established in 1977 and is our county's longest-serving and only independent not-for-profit hospice.

Our 15,000 sq. ft. Care Center is a 12-suite (with private patios) full-service hospice care facility that provides short-term acute symptom management for hospice patients 24/7.

Currently, we have over 300 patients, and this number is growing.

Job Description

• The Hospice Physician, as a member of the interdisciplinary care team (IDT), is responsible for the direction and quality of the medical component of the care rendered to the patient/family by the interdisciplinary team.
• We prefer certification as a hospice/palliative care physician or internal medicine/family medicine physician with experience or interest in hospice/palliative care medicine.
• Knowledgeable about the psychosocial and medical aspects of hospice and palliative care and the ability to manage the emotional stress of working with and caring for terminally ill patients and their families is a plus.

• Certification as a hospice/palliative care physician or internal medicine/family medicine physician with experience or interest in hospice/palliative care medicine.
