Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Interventional Radiology
Banner University Medical Center (Phoenix) is seeking a dynamic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with Interventional Radiology skills to join our team. Our APP will work in collaboration with the neurointerventional radiologists to provide comprehensive patient care. They should be independently motivated, enjoy direct patient contact, and be clinically inclined to perform at a high level with both inpatient and outpatient care. Prior NIR, neuro, critical care, ER or inpatient surgical patient care experience is preferred. Must have ACLS certification and appropriate state licensure.
Job Description
- Acting as the initial contact for referring providers, hospital nurses, and patients
- Performing initial pre-procedure patient assessment, drafting H&P's, writing pre-procedure orders
- Assisting radiologists with procedures, performing minor image-guided procedures (predominantly vascular access, barrow biopsies, and line/tube management)
- Post-procedure rounding, coordinating patient discharge, and providing outpatient follow-up
- Performing outpatient consults under supervision, and drafting the H&P and follow-up notes
- Performing follow-up visits and phone calls post-procedures and inpatient stays
- Acting as the liaison between the doctors and the patients; you are the face of the practice
- Assisting clinicians with identifying research patients according to current protocols
- Radiology experience required
