Job Description

• This is a locum tenens opportunity for board certified or board eligible (within 5 years of residency) emergency medicine physicians to provide coverage at both the main facility in Fortuna and the affiliated facility in Eureka.
• Immediate need for 2-3 providers with active CA license
• Must be BC or BE within 5 years of residency (ABEM/ABEOM only)
• Shifts available throughout November and December 2025
• Various shift times available (day, evening, and night shifts)
• Guaranteed 8 hours per shift with overtime after 12 hours
• Average of 110 patients seen in a 24-hour period

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included
• Night shift differential of $25/hour for confirmed night shifts

Facility Overview

This facility is a community hospital serving the Fortuna area with comprehensive emergency medical services. The emergency department features 32 beds and operates as a Level 3 trauma center with strong support services available 24/7 including anesthesia, cardio-thoracic surgery, cath lab, general surgery, laboratory, neurosurgery, orthopedics, radiology, and vascular surgery.
