Job Description
- Seeking multiple locum/locum to perm EM providers to start as soon as credentialed!
- Shifts and Hours: Days and Night Focus on nights for June and come July will need day and night coverage.
- Dates of Coverage: June 2025, ongoing.
- Starting in June 8-10 shifts per month needed.
- July ongoing will be a consistent 10-12 shifts per month.
- Percent of total hospital admissions received from ED: 15%.
- Percent of ED patients admitted to the hospital per day: 15%.
- Percent of ED patients transferred per day: 1-2 patients per day.
- Trauma Level/Designation: None - we are a community hospital.
- Total number of beds: 44.
- Annual ER volume: 55,000.
- Number of ED physicians in group: 11 total physicians of which 5 are leaving.
- Fast track in ED.
- Fast track staffed APP.
- Percent of total ED volume treated by fast track: 40%.
- Will the locum physician be required to supervise other health care providers? Yes, APPs.
- Documentation system/EMR: Epic.
- Does ED staff respond to house codes? Yes.
- If yes, are house codes secondary to ED emergencies? Yes, secondary to ED emergencies, we have a response team. ED does airway on that team.
- Who writes admission orders? Hospitalists.
- Do hospital bylaws require a specific response time for on-call physicians? 30 minutes or less.
- Are deliveries received in ED or sent directly to labor & delivery? Sent directly to labor & delivery.
- Is ED responsible for monitoring/supervising paramedics/ambulance by radio? Yes.
- Ambulance response time & travel referral facility: within 20-30 minutes.
- 24-hour availability for radiology (CT, MRI, X-Ray): Yes.
- 24-hour availability for laboratory: Yes.
- Blood bank - certified by AABB: Yes.
- 24-hour availability for the OR: Yes.
- 24-hour availability for anesthesia: Yes.
- Who does EKG interpretations? EM docs.
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: Need approximately 4 weeks to get mandatory onboarding functions completed.
