School Based Counselor Associate

This is a critical, full-time role in a school-based setting throughout Wayne County, NC, where you will provide vital therapeutic support to help students thrive academically and emotionally.

Job Description

• Deliver impactful individual and group counseling to students.
• Conduct comprehensive mental health and psychosocial assessments.
• Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate, timely progress notes and documentation.
• Provide crisis support and brief interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with school staff and participate in administrative and case staffing meetings.
• Engage in school outreach and deliver educational presentations to promote wellness.
• Participate in clinical supervision and peer consultation to enhance your skills.
• Manage appropriate referrals and client discharge to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
• An active North Carolina associate-level license is required, such as:
  • Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A).
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A).
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A).
• Must pass a comprehensive background check.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in counseling with children and adolescents, group therapy, and diverse populations.
• Demonstrated experience with clinical assessment, treatment planning, and DSM-V diagnostics.
• Evidence-based counseling methods and cultural competence.
• Basic case management, referral services, and family systems approaches.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
