About the job
Internal Medicine Physician
Bon Secours Internists of Churchland is adding an experienced MD/DO to our team of Internal Medicine Providers! Located in the growing Harbour View area of Suffolk, VA, directly off of I-664, near the Monitor Merrimac Bridge Tunnel, and in close proximity to Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Suffolk!
We're an extremely busy practice with 5 MDs and 1 NP. One MD recently retired, and we're hiring to replace that team member to provide much-needed access to care for our patients. Most days we see 125-150 patients!
Job Description
- Practice hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; 5 eight-hour workdays needed
- Call is for after hours/weekend and to cover PTO, shared between the team in rotation
- Established practice with many patients coming for 20+ years
- 100% outpatient with no hospital responsibility
- Average patients per day: 20-24 after ramp-up period
- All patients are age 18+; 60% geriatric
- EPIC EMR and MyChart for telehealth as appropriate
- Great support and mentorship in the practice and medical group, including 3 LPNs, 4 CMAs, 7 Patient Service Reps, Practice Administrator, and APC Lead in the market
- PharmD on site for diabetic education and medication management, with 2 phlebotomists for lab draws
- Central location near specialty offices including women's health, imaging, radiology, hospitals, and ER
- We prefer physicians with internal medicine practice experience. The provider would need to be able to see a patient panel independently with little assistance from current providers in the office due to their patient load. We expect a provider to be willing and able to manage their patients in respect to population health quality outcomes (i.e., experience with population health).
- Our goal is to provide a positive environment where patients want to come for care and team members want to work.
We're looking for a physician who fosters relationships with their patients and is able to work collegially and positively in a group setting.
Eligible physicians must have completed a U.S.-based Internal Medicine residency program, be Board Certified by ABMS/ABIM, and be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S.
