    Emergency Department Music Therapist

    Join our team as an Emergency Department Music Therapist, working 4, 10.5 hour days or 5, 8.5 hour days. The shift will typically start around 10:00 a.m.

    Job Description

    • Provide music therapy to support the developmental, rehabilitative, psychological, socioemotional, and psychoeducational needs of BCH patients and families from various demographic and multicultural backgrounds.
    • Work in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to assess, evaluate, and document the therapeutic needs of patients to address the medical, procedural, surgical, diagnostic, and prognostic experiences of patients and families.
    • Provide basic guidance and instruction on student/intern performance and interactions with patients and families.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy.
    • 1 year work experience in a medical setting and/or working with children.
    • The ability to adhere to AMTA standards of practice, code of ethics, and professional competencies.
    • Demonstrated proficient knowledge in music therapy clinical practice, musical skills, child development, and the impact of healthcare on neurodevelopmental outcomes.
    • Certification or the eligibility to sit for certification exam within 18 months of hire are preferred.
