    • The candidate will enjoy a very generous compensation package in a stable, vertically integrated Carle Health System while practicing in a multi-disciplinary setting with a dedicated breast team and breast cancer navigator. The health system has over 17,000 employees across several hospitals, covering a population of about 2.5 million people. • The ideal candidate would be a general surgeon with a surgical oncology fellowship or a general surgeon currently in practice with breast surgery being at least 50% of their current practice volume and have excellent interpersonal skills for program building. For fellowship-trained candidates, both candidates with experience and new graduates are very welcome to apply.

    • The Carle Illinois College of Medicine (CI COM) was founded in 2015 and has graduated some of the best medical students in the country, with over 92% obtaining their program choice in the match. The medical school is part of the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (UIUC), which has over 60,000 students. • The position will include dedicated time for teaching CI COM medical students and General Surgery Residents at Carle's General Surgery Residency Program. For candidates with a strong academic background, a 0.2 FTE of protected research/academic time would be available.
