RN Lead
$5000 sign-on bonus available (external candidates only). The RN Lead leads nursing and patient care activities for CRMH Specialty Clinics that include multiple departments and sites. The RN Lead is responsible for supporting the Patient Care Manager with administrative duties of the clinical units. The position provides clinical expertise in the nursing process, patient workflows, and care experience. This position will participate in organizational and unit-based quality improvement activities and will provide input on standards of care to maintain quality patient outcomes. They will also maintain the clinical competencies needed to provide direct patient care when the need arises. They will participate in onboarding and training new employees and coordinate staff training needs, including new employee job training and yearly competencies. Specialty departments include but are not limited to Cardiology, Urology, Interventional Pain, ENT/Allergy, General Surgery, Wound, OB/GYN, Podiatry, Cardiac Rehab, and Ortho. This includes off-site locations.
Job Description
- Perform essential job functions of staff nurse for each specialty.
- Act as a role model and support management initiatives for each specialty.
- Resolve work-related issues or assist employees in solving work-related issues; confer with supervisor or manager to resolve more complex situations.
- Assist in the development and review of department policies, procedures, standing orders, and competencies.
- Assist in developing and implementing current and new office processes within each specialty.
- Assist staff in solving work-related issues as needed.
- Be prepared with shift coverage options in case of unscheduled absence of off-hours shift.
- Assist with the orientation, continuing education, and the development of competencies for new and current staff.
- Complete audits that directly impact practice and send follow-up emails for immediate feedback and if possible face-to-face education.
- Complete required monthly reports and any required training on time and ensure staff are compliant with all training.
- In absence of manager, respond to customer service issues with patients, families, MDs, and all other staff.
- Provide input for various personnel actions including but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, and promotions; make work assignments and review and edit work of junior personnel.
- Coordinate clinic operations, establish work schedules, review staffing needs, and supervise and train staff in good patient relations and office policies and procedures as directed by the manager.
- Schedule and complete follow-up for monthly staff meetings.
- Ensure staff members are adequately trained and competent to perform all required job tasks.
- Oversee daily patient care, including patient education, triage, and office procedures.
- Ensure appropriate staffing for patient care including RN, LPN, CMA, and MA staff roles.
Requirements
- Ambulatory Care Nursing Certification (AMB-BC) - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year - American Heart Association (AHA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- 2 years of ambulatory nursing experience.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $29.41 per hour - $50.59 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
