Ophthalmology Internship

Interested in Ophthalmology and Optometry? This is a great opportunity for college students to gain experience at a fast-paced, well-established, state-of-the-art multi-physician ophthalmology private practice. Participation in this paid fall/winter/spring/summer internship is open to Senior Undergraduate, Gap Year Grads, and/or Graduate students in the field of medicine, sciences, general and healthcare administration. Extended opportunities are available for qualified applicants to apply for full/part employment.

Job Description

• Gain experience in a multi-physician ophthalmology private practice
• Participate in direct patient care and contact
• Learn patient care and intake skills
• Build skills as a medical scribe
• Understand advanced ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Familiarize with ophthalmic terminology
• Learn the use and functions of HVF, OCT, IOL Master, and Fundus Photography

Requirements

• Students must be enrolled in healthcare studies (e.g., pre-med, current medical student, optometry student, new graduate, ophthalmic technician, or medical assistant)
• Interest in the field of Ophthalmology
• Knowledge of medical scribing is a plus
• Personal attributes: discipline, timeliness, reliability, and professional behavior with the ability to work in a team environment
• Good communication and people skills
• Compassion for patient service
• Eager to learn new and advanced technology
• Bilingual speaking is a plus
