    Psychiatrist

    The Psychiatrist at Burlington County DOC, located in Mount Holly, NJ, will be responsible for the delivery of psychotherapy, diagnostic, and therapeutic services in a contract facility. The Psychiatrist will also act as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and a liaison with other medical disciplines. This position is 10 hours a week with a flexible schedule, including weekends.

    The Psychiatrist diagnoses and treats patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, organizes data concerning the patient's family, medical history, and onset of symptoms obtained from the patient, relatives, and other sources, such as nurses and social workers.

    Job Description

    • Examines patients to determine general physical condition, following standard medical procedures.
    • Orders laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluates data obtained.
    • Determines the nature and extent of mental disorders and formulates treatment programs.
    • Treats or directs treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.

    • Basic computer skills.
    • Proficiency in the use of Electronic Medical Records.

    • Strong knowledge of general medicine and psychotherapy, current developments in the field of psychology, hospital and clinic organization, management, and procedures.
    • Capable of preparing written reports and able to handle legal depositions and court hearings.
    • Maintains an active Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
    • Must have an unrestricted and valid prescriptive authority with Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS).

    • Follows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence Protocol.
    • Adheres to PREA and HIPAA regulations.
    • Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility.
    • Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication with supervising staff.
