    Nursing Coordinator

    CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area with a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.

    Job Description

    • Supports and coordinates day-to-day activities of nursing personnel in patient care units, provides direction to clinical staff, implements work of assigned units, and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments.
    • Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans.
    • Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.
    • Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.
    • Organizes and oversees patient care delivery during an assigned shift, ensuring proper staffing and smooth operations of a patient care unit.
    • Coaches/counsels individual team members; monitors and provides feedback on performance and addresses training needs.
    • Documents daily staffing, operational, and administrative records; maintaining compliance with governmental policies and procedures.
    • Provides direction and support to nursing staff demonstrating and promoting respect for the dignity and rights of every patient; assisting with communications with patients and families.
    • Allocates team resources responsibly and equitably, delegates appropriate levels of responsibility and authority, and provides oversight and guidance.
    • Mediates and resolves conflicts among individuals, groups, and departments.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
    • 2 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
    • BLS required.
    • RN License in state of employment or compact.
