Cardiothoracic Surgeon

We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for 24-hour hospital call coverage in East Texas. This locum role supports a busy surgical program across three facilities and offers high daily compensation, full travel/lodging support, and a flexible shared schedule over a 4-6 month period.

Job Description

• Location: Lufkin, TX (multiple nearby facilities)
• Dates: July 25 - August 1 and ongoing through 2025
• Shift: 24hr call (7a - 7a)
• Pay: $3,185/day
• Callback Volume:
  • Weekday average: 6.67 hrs at $475/hr effective
  • Weekend average: 3.5 hrs at $900/hr effective
• Travel: Flights, hotel, and malpractice covered
• EMR: Cerner, Paragon, McKesson Cardiology

Responsibilities

• Provide ED and referred CV surgical coverage
• Perform full-scope cardiac and thoracic procedures
• Vein harvesting required (PA support based on case load)

Requirements

• Board Certified or Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• CV Surgery Fellowship Required
• Active TX license or IMLC with LOQ
• Clean malpractice history Required
• BLS & ACLS (can be completed onsite)
