Our team is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patient care, which includes thoroughly cleaning all equipment such as incubators, phototherapy lights, infant cribs, and breast pumps. We manage front-line communications by answering the phone and doorbell, and we play a crucial role in patient flow. This involves setting up for admissions, which includes preparing charts, assigning visitation codes, and ensuring cameras are operational. Conversely, for discharges, we handle room turnover, finalize charts, cancel visitation codes, and coordinate follow-up appointments with Riley physicians. Additionally, we provide essential support for various procedures, setting up for eye exams and circumcisions. We also conduct all hearing screens and manage logistical tasks, such as transporting samples to the lab and retrieving supplies from sterile processing. Our responsibilities extend to daily quality control checks on the Novastat and ensuring newborn screens are submitted promptly. Finally, we maintain bedside supplies and manage developmental linens to support patient comfort and care.
