Emergency Medicine Physician Locum

Join our team as a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM/AOBEM) to provide locum coverage at our Level III Trauma Center in Mason City, IA. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a busy, well-equipped emergency department with low transfer rates and strong Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support.

Job Description

• Provide locum coverage in a busy emergency department with an annual volume of 33,000 visits (77 patients/day)
• Work alongside 1-2 physicians during the day and 1 physician at night, with 1-2 APPs per shift (supervision expected)
• Peak hours are from 11 AM to 11 PM
• Utilize Cerner PowerChart EMR (transitioning to EPIC in June)
• Engage in teaching opportunities at a teaching hospital with 250 beds

Requirements

• Board Certification: ABEM/AOBEM (Required)
• Licensure: Active IA License or IMLC (Required)
• Certifications:
  • ACLS & PALS (Waived if ER Boarded)
  • ATLS (Required for trauma privileges)
• Availability: Must be available for night shifts
