    Nurse Practitioner

    South Jersey Internal Medicine is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to work three half days a week and is open to working when the physician is on vacation for coverage. We are looking for someone with good medical knowledge who is friendly, flexible, and good with people.

    Job Description

    • Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare to individuals across the lifespan.
    • Provide general and preventive care, conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret lab tests, and prescribe medications.
    • Play a vital role in all aspects of patient care, including evaluation, treatment planning, and consultation.
    • Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care.

    Nurse Practitioner Essential Functions

    • Perform physical examinations of patients aged 16 years to adult to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses.
    • Administer and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests.
    • Create patient care plans and contribute to existing ones.
    • Detect changes in patients' health and modify treatment plans as needed.
    • Educate and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care.
    • Facilitate the patient's transition within and between healthcare settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
    • Plan and manage patient care according to the patient's needs.
    • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, etc.
    • Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends.

    Nurse Practitioner Required Skills/Abilities

    • Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
    • Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare workers, and collaborate with team members.
    • Must be able to think critically, evaluate various options to treat a condition, and identify the one that will have the best outcome.
    • Maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced yet friendly environment.
    • Must be well organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility.
    • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion concerning health service records and information.

    Requirements

    • Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse licensure required.
    • Graduate degree from an accredited nursing program, such as a Master of Science in nursing.

    Compensation Information

    $65.00 - $67.00
