Estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care. 5% Administrative.

Job Description

• Physician(s) shall be responsible for inpatient care, working in collaboration with Mental Health staff who are part-time or full-time salaried by the VA for inpatient care duties including but not limited to:
  • Operating and collaborating physician's patients
  • Seeing 1C/1D Psychiatry Service - Ward Patients
  • Admitting
  • Diagnosis of patients
  • Developing treatment plans
  • Managing, including the performance of timely treatment
  • Discharge/transfer
  • Including all needed medical record documentation
• Outpatient care responsibilities include:
  • Seeing all new patient referrals with accompanying medical records
  • Seeing severely mentally ill patients
  • Evaluation disposition E-consult
  • Post-discharge follow-up
  • Patients must be seen by provider in 30 days
