    Overview

    Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment. Performs therapeutic procedures such as incision and drainage, splinting, suturing, managing infection, and wound care. Documents and charts patient information in line with current policies and procedures.

    Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care. Communicates with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Refers patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as appropriate.

    Follows established policies, procedures, objectives, and recommended referral practices.

    Orders diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviation from normal. Orientation and training of new practitioners when necessary. Supervision of midlevel practitioners when appropriate and abide by all associated rules and regulations.

    Job Description

    Requirements

    • Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
    • Currently licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners.
    • Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.
    • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting.
    • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in clinical management.
    • Knowledge of current principles for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
    • Ability to maintain all appropriate licenses and certifications.

    Work Environment

    Onsite work in a clinical setting with a moderate noise level. There is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. Requires travel to multiple centers.

    Schedule

    Variable shift start/end time from 8 AM to 8 PM, seven days a week. Open on holidays except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

    Dress Code

    Scrubs - Navy Blue.

    Travel Requirements

    This is a float position; the practitioner will be floating from clinic to clinic based on the needs of the market within all centers in Massachusetts.
