    Job Description

    • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems
    • Display active involvement in the treatment planning process
    • Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups
    • Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources
    • Demonstrate proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment
    • Work well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff members
    • Demonstrate active communication with team members
    • Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues
    • Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate, and complete manner
    • Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
    • Act as a member of the team when a crisis situation occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety
    • Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills
    • Assist care coordination department as requested
    • Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards
    • Display a thorough knowledge of confidentiality
    • Complete releases appropriately
    • Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abide by those standards
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws
    • Display active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment processes
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • Master's degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure required
    • Accepting Psychologist with a master's degree in psychology
    • Accepting Married and Family Therapist (MFT) Master's degree with License
    • Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients
    • Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines

    Additional Requirements

    • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days
