Job Description

• Level I trauma center call coverage
• 24-hour call model with 30-minute response time
• Block scheduling including 2 weeks on and off

Practice Setting

• Adult inpatient neurosurgery service
• Nurse practitioner support onsite during the day
• Collaborative trauma, critical care, and hospitalist teams

Schedule

• 24-hour call shifts with some inpatient rounding
• Approximately 20 shifts per month or 2 weeks on and off
• Ongoing monthly coverage needs

Cases and Procedures

• Bread and butter neurosurgery
• Trauma and emergency consults
• Acute surgical case mix with inpatient responsibilities

Requirements

• Board Certified Neurological Surgery Physician
• Active Illinois license
