    Research Assistant

    This is a grant-funded position with an end date of 5/31/2026, renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward research goals. This date above is the end of Year 3 of the grant. We anticipate this grant will continue through 2028 with this position being funded up to 3 years.

    Job Description

    • Provide research assistance/support for research projects in the Lippard Lab in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Austin working as part of a team of faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate assistants. Weekend and evening work will be required.
    • Conduct phone screens for study recruitment and assist with subject recruitment.
    • Conduct clinical and behavioral assessments, including structured clinical interviews, alcohol administration sessions, and MRI scans.
    • Help with subject management, scheduling and reimbursement, and data analysis.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree. Basic engineering and/or scientific equipment ordinarily used in college laboratory work.
    • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with projects involving human subject research.
    • Experience with REDCap.
    • Experience with alcohol administration studies and MRI data collection.
    • Experience with clinical assessments (including structured clinical interviews).
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal) and interact skillfully with investigators, staff, and researchers; work both as a team member and independently without continuous supervision; work with overlapping projects and with sensitive and confidential information; adapt to a dynamic and deadline-driven, patient-oriented environment.

    Salary Range

    $40,000 + depending on qualifications.
