Join our team as a Locum Oncology MD/DO needed in Vacaville, CA at the Wellness Center - Cancer Center Department. This position offers top hourly and daily rates for weekend call, with 4 gratis hours included.

Job Description

• Specialty: Hematology/Oncology
• Credentialing: ASAP start (60-90 day estimated credentialing time)
• Start: July/August 2025
• End: 6 months from start date
• Schedule: Clinic coverage (M-F) + 24hr call shifts in hospital (7a-7a) on weekends. They expect 1 weekend per month of call to be needed.
• Patient Volume: Average patient load is 1-2 new patients per day and 12 follow-up patients. Weekend volume is dependent on emergencies & census.
• Procedures: Diagnose, treat, and manage adult patients with a full spectrum of both benign and malignant conditions including solid tumors, benign hematology (clotting disorders, anemia, cytopenias, sickle cell, etc.) and malignant hematology (acute and chronic leukemias, multiple myeloma, lymphoma, myeloproliferative disorders, etc.). Typical referrals are about 2/3 hematology and 1/3 oncology.

• License: CA
• Certifications: Board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology and Oncology

Requirements

• Proven experience in hematology/oncology, with expertise in the diagnosis and management of both hematologic malignancies and solid tumors.
• Strong diagnostic, clinical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care.
• Ensure all care complies with industry standards, including those established by the NCCN, ASCO, and regulatory bodies.

Outpatient practice with adjacent inpatient oncology hospital, second hospital covered in adjacent community.
