Locum OBGYN Physician

We are seeking a Locum OBGYN Physician in Lawton, OK. This position is open to any state license and is part of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) under the Indian Health Service.

Job Description

• Credentialing takes 45-60 days.
• Start date: 5/12/25; End date: 5/12/26.
• Length of assignment: 3, 6, 9, or 12-month contracts available.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with a 1-hour lunch.
• Patient volume: Outpatient, call, surgical, and deliveries; approximately 8-10 outpatient visits per day.
• EMR system used: Oracle Cerner.
• Must be board-certified or board-eligible.
• Call coverage includes phone consults and emergency surgeries during clinic hours; rare callbacks and limited call, with one GYN physician on a 1 week on, 1 week off schedule.
• Types of surgeries include hysterectomies, oophorectomy/salpingectomy (if available), bladder sling procedures, biopsies for external lesions in the vaginal area, D&C, and treatment for tubal pregnancies.
• Average number of surgeries per week is not specified, but standard GYN surgeries are performed.
• Supportive techs/nurses are available during surgeries, and there is an NP in the OB department.
• Ultrasound is available in the unit; patients do not need to be sent to Radiology for this service.
• The clinic has a colposcope but no LEEP machine; both metal and plastic speculums are used.
• There are about 6-7 exam rooms in the clinic, with one currently being renovated.
• Staffing includes 2-3 RNs; the number of medical assistants is not specified.
