Locum OBGYN Physician

Locum OBGYN Physician needed in Claremore, OK. Any state license accepted. This position is in a hospital inpatient and outpatient clinic setting with the Indian Health Service.

Job Description

• Credentialing takes 45-60 days
• Start date: 5/12/25
• End date: 1/12/26
• Length of assignment: 8-9 month contract with the option to extend
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with a 1-hour lunch
• Volume: Outpatient, call, surgical, deliveries; approximately 8-10 outpatient visits per day
• EMR: RPMS with IHS specific add-ons
• Must be board certified or board eligible

Additional Information

• Call coverage is primarily for phone consults; emergency surgeries may be required during clinic hours, with rare callbacks and limited call (only one GYN); schedule is 1 week on, 1 week off.
• Types of surgeries include hysterectomies, oophorectomy/salpingectomy (if available per physician), bladder sling, biopsy for external lesions in the vaginal area, D&C, and tubal pregnancy treatment.
• Average number of patients in the clinic: 10 per day.
• Supportive techs/nurses are available during surgeries; there is also an NP in the OB department.
• Ultrasound is available in the unit; patients do not need to be sent to Radiology.
• The clinic has a colposcope but no LEEP machine; both metal and plastic speculums are used.
• The clinic has about 6-7 exam rooms, with one currently being renovated.
• Staffing includes 2-3 RNs; the number of medical assistants is not specified.
