Locum OBGYN MD

Locum OBGYN MD needed in Laurinburg, North Carolina. This position offers a daily rate, hourly call back, and travel expenses. Currently, there are multiple physicians working here through various specialties.

Job Description

• Credentialing: 45-60 days
• Start: As soon as credentialed
• Length of Assignment: Ongoing through 2026
• Work Schedule: 7 AM - 7 AM, 24-hour call
• High-risk births: Yes
• EMR: EPIC
• Scope of responsibilities: Daily rounds, Labor and Delivery, ER Consults, Hospitalist Consults, etc.
• Volume: Differs
• Number of physicians in group: 4 OB/GYN, 3 Midwives
• Hospital details: 104 beds, no trauma level at this time
• Patient calls per on-call shift: Roughly 2-3 phone calls
• Required procedures: C-sections, deliveries, ectopic pregnancies, gynecological emergencies, D&C, etc.
• Collaboration: Will work with nurses, anesthesiologists, OB nurses, ER doctors, etc.
• Case logs for credentialing: 2 years of case logs required
• New graduates: Consideration after 2 years of practice within their specialty
• Expected schedule: Fluid call schedule with weekdays and weekends; most shifts are 24 hours (7 AM - 7 AM)
• Call responsibilities: On-call provider is responsible for all duties during their shift, including normal births, C-sections, ER Consults, Hospitalist Consults, etc.
• Percentage of deliveries that are C-sections: Approximately 24%
• High-risk pregnancies: Yes
• NICU availability: Level 2 Special Care nursery
• BLS or CPR certification: Not required but desired
