Locum OBGYN MD

Locum OBGYN MD needed in Laurinburg, North Carolina. This position offers a daily rate, hourly call back, and travel expenses. Currently, there are multiple physicians working here through various specialties.

Job Description

• Credentialing takes 45-60 days.
• Start as soon as credentialed.
• Ongoing position through 2026.
• Work schedule is from 7 AM to 7 AM with 24-hour call.
• High-risk births are included.
• EMR system used is EPIC.
• Scope of responsibilities includes daily rounds, labor and delivery, ER consults, hospitalist consults, etc.
• Patient volume differs.
• Group consists of 4 OB/GYNs and 3 midwives.
• Hospital has 104 beds and does not have a trauma level at this time.
• Approximately 2-3 phone calls per on-call shift.
• Required procedures include C-sections, deliveries, ectopic pregnancies, gynecological emergencies, D&C, etc.
• The locum will work with nurses, anesthesiologists, OB nurses, ER doctors, etc.
• Two years of case logs are required for credentialing.
• New graduates will be considered only after 2 years of practice within their specialty.
• The expected schedule is fluid with some weekdays and weekends; most shifts are 24 hours starting at 7 AM.
• The on-call provider is responsible for all duties during their on-call schedule, including normal births, C-sections, ER consults, and hospitalist consults.
• Approximately 24% of deliveries are C-sections.
• High-risk pregnancies are delivered.
• A Level 2 special care nursery is available.
• BLS or CPR certification is not required but is desired.
