Locum Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a Locum Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner in Parker, AZ. The hospital is opening a new urgent care facility and currently has two permanent Nurse Practitioners, but one will be leaving at the end of August. This brand new urgent care is located in Parker, AZ, a small town that serves as a tourist destination for water-based recreational activities on the Colorado River and Lake Havasu, which is 38 miles away.

Job Description

• Hospital-based urgent care setting
• Nurse Practitioner only
• Credentialing takes approximately 3-4 weeks
• Start date: September 4, 2025
• End date: December 31, 2025
• Flexible work schedule options: 7 on/off; 2 on/off; or 5 on/off with 12-hour shifts
• Patient volume includes follow-up appointments every 15 minutes and new patient appointments every 20-30 minutes; patients of all ages
• Procedures include performing minor office surgeries, applying casts and splints, and suturing lacerations
• EMR system used: Cerner

Requirements

• Active Arizona license
• Certifications: DEA, BLS, Board-Certified
• Relevant experience in urgent care and rural settings is required, as the provider will be operating solo opposite the permanent Nurse Practitioner

Additional Information

The practitioner is expected to see patients scheduled approximately every 15 minutes for follow-ups and every 20-30 minutes for new patients. They must be able to adapt to changes in the schedule as needed for patient care. It may also be necessary for the practitioner to make additions to the schedule for urgent care-type patients. Time will be set aside at the end of the day to follow up on consults, ordered labs, and refill requests.
