Locum Urgent Care Physician

We are looking for local MD/DOs that live in the Tallahassee area for a locum urgent care need. This position involves 12-15 urgent care shifts per month with a minimum contract of 4-6 months.

Job Description

• Work in high-volume clinics, especially during the Fall.
• Hourly rate plus lodging coverage for those who live 1 hour outside of Tallahassee and only work nights, along with mileage reimbursement.
• Credentialing takes 1-2 weeks.
• Start date: 7/28/25; End date: 1/30/26; Length of assignment: 3 months.
• Schedule: 12-15 shifts per month; once orientation is complete, you can pick up available shifts.
• Patient volume averages 35 patients per 12-hour day, or just under 3 patients per hour.
• Oversee urgent and primary care walk-ins and appointments for ages 2 and up as the sole provider.
• Perform minor office procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, toenail removal, and orthopedic splinting.
• Conduct physicals such as sports, DOT, pre-employment, and annuals.
• Evaluate patients for workers' compensation injuries.

Requirements

• Must have a Florida medical license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (must be AHA).
• EMR experience with Experity.

Additional Information

• There will be a 4-hour in-clinic training/EMR training with medical leadership on day 1.
• Support staff will primarily consist of an MA, with occasional assistance from an RT or EMT.
