Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician Assistant

Job Description

• Provide psychiatric assessment
• Provide clinical diagnosis
• Coordinate care with social work for patient transition to outpatient care
• Recommend treatment options and follow treatment outcomes
• Actively participate in case conferences and related team-based meetings
• Prescribe psychotropic medication as appropriate for client care
• Work with the clinical staff towards the integration of health with behavioral health
• Partner with other staff toward best practice intervention planning
• Recommend discharge and aftercare planning
• Provide client education on behavioral health issues and strategies for recovery
• Clinical monitoring

Requirements

• Nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant degree with some training in Psychiatry
• Licensed by the NC Medical Board of Examiners and/or the NCBON and/or the ability to obtain your NC Medical License and/or your NCBON Licensure
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with EMR programs
• Confidence to work independently
• Willingness to take over existing patients as well as take on new patients
