Physician Services Support
Join our team at the Federal Correctional Institution in Oxford, Wisconsin, where you will provide essential medical services in a correctional environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic setting while ensuring the health and well-being of the inmate population.
Job Description
- Provide urgent and emergency care as needed, responding immediately to calls for help via radio or telephone notification.
- Deliver medical services for acute and chronic medical problems among the general population inmates, those in the Special Housing Unit, and Wood Unit.
- Evaluate and treat inmates requiring emergency medical care, perform comprehensive history and physical examinations, and review and sign diagnostic and consultative reports.
- Provide clinical guidance to Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, and EMTs.
- Document accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record and complete all data collection instruments by the end of the workday.
- Adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions.
Requirements
- Must possess knowledge, skills, abilities, and a current and valid medical license to practice medicine in any state in the United States.
- Current BLS certification is required.
- The contractor must ensure their employee is free of communicable diseases.
Benefits
- Salary range of $101-$108 per hour (1099 position).
- Work schedule typically includes 30 sessions per week, Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.
Patient Management
- Responsible for receiving patients and explaining procedures to alleviate undue anxiety.
- Submit written reports, evaluations, and/or plans of treatment for all patients evaluated in the electronic medical record (BEMR).
- Ensure patients have impartial access to treatment or accommodations that are available or medically indicated, regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin, or religion.
The contractor is required to maintain an open line of communication with the Clinical Director, Health Services Administrator (HSA), and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
