    El Camino Health Medical Network is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ophthalmologist to join our ambulatory team. This role is focused on outpatient care, serving a diverse patient population with a variety of eye conditions. The position offers an excellent opportunity to build long-term patient relationships while practicing in a supportive, collegial environment with strong administrative and clinical support.

    This physician will diagnose and treat a wide range of ophthalmic conditions in a clinical, non-hospital setting. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

    Job Description

    • Perform comprehensive and subspecialty eye exams (e.g., glaucoma, retina, cataracts, cornea, etc.)
    • Diagnose and manage medical and some minor surgical eye conditions in an ambulatory care setting
    • Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, or therapies as needed
    • Conduct minor in-office procedures (e.g., laser treatments, intravitreal injections)
    • Refer patients for surgical intervention or to other subspecialists as appropriate
    • Document all patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) in a timely and accurate manner
    • Collaborate with optometrists, technicians, and primary care physicians to coordinate care
    • Educate patients about diagnosis, treatment options, and preventive eye care

    Requirements

    • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
    • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Ophthalmology
    • Board-certified or board-eligible in Ophthalmology
    • Unrestricted medical license in California
    • DEA license
    • Proficiency with EHR systems
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Commitment to outpatient care and preventive medicine

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., retina, glaucoma, cornea) is a plus
    • Experience in outpatient ophthalmology
