Job Description

• Under the direction of the Medical Director, the physician will perform medical services.
• The Primary Health Care Physician will examine, perform diagnosis, and treat patients who come to the clinic for acute medical care.
• Determines the necessity for referral and refers persons requiring special diagnostic procedures and treatments to appropriate sources; discusses findings with external providers; supervises the work of physician assistants and nurse practitioners assigned.
• Participates in developing the call schedule and provides coverage every four (4) to six (6) weeks.
• Maintains EHR patient records.
• Diagnoses and treats common health problems; advises and counsels patients on developmental and maturational issues.
• Identifies, intervenes, and provides information for the patient, enabling the patient to make informed decisions and incorporates measures to improve health status.
• Considers individual cultural, psychological, social, and environmental factors; provides referrals and coordinates patient services to promote continuity of care at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels; collaborates and consults closely with other physicians on behalf of patients; responds to patient medical emergencies in life-threatening situations.
• For pediatric providers, they will assess the growth and development of children 0-18 years and must track and administer immunizations on a schedule. They must be able to communicate well with parents and children.
• The physician will participate in QA/QI, QM, and Peer Review meetings. At minimum, they will attend ongoing training in using the EHR system, PCMH, and attend CMEs. They will review quality measures and patient satisfaction surveys and implement necessary improvement plans to reach required thresholds. They will perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the Board Certified principles and practices of modern medicine including preventive medicine.
• Mature judgment, tact, discretion, and confidentiality are mandatory.
• Position requires a professional, pleasant, and effective representation of the corporation.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred.
• Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California driver's license.
• Must submit to and pass a drug test, fitness for duty, and a criminal background clearance as a pre-condition for employment.
• Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, TB test, Hepatitis B, MMR, and TDAP vaccines.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.
• Possession of a valid Physicians and Surgeons Certificate issued by the State of California.
