Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant
We are seeking BE/BC Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants for a full-time employed position to join our group in Wilmington, NC community. Job Description
- Conduct thorough initial assessments and triage patients based on the severity of their condition, ensuring timely and appropriate care.
- Administer treatment and provide medical interventions for a wide range of emergency medical conditions, including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and more.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as X-rays, EKGs, and laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Administer medications, including intravenous, oral, and intramuscular medications, as prescribed by the attending physician.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient histories, assessments, interventions, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Provide patients and their families with clear and empathetic explanations of diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Assist in emergency procedures, including intubation, CPR, and other life-saving interventions as needed.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and facility policies to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Requirements
- Current North Carolina Physician Assistant license and certification.
- Previous experience in emergency medicine or a related field is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- ACLS and PALS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
